Oxford Matariki Festival – Matariki Herenga Waka
Celebrate the Māori New Year with a magical weekend in Oxford, North Canterbury. Gather your whānau and enjoy a fantastic line-up of activities for all ages, including a disco roller-skating event for tamariki, arts and crafts, outdoor fun and adventures, a traditional hāngī, and a special evening under the stars with the Oxford Observatory display.
Explore the town as it comes alive with the Oxford Winter Lights Festival, browse local shops and eateries, and soak up the warmth and atmosphere of this special community celebration. Inspired by the theme Matariki Herenga Waka – The Mooring Place of Canoes, the festival is a time to come together, reflect, celebrate and look ahead with hope.
